Glaucoma Diagnosis

Glaucoma refers to a group of diseases that affect the eyes. These diseases cause damage to the optic nerve, which leads to vision loss. Glaucoma is an eye disease that causes damage to the optic nerve. It is one of the leading causes of blindness worldwide.

Treatment:

1. Glaucoma is stress-related physical during a routine eye exam, frequently before it shows any visible symptoms. Later, further tests may be required to identify and track the problem.

2. Regular eye exams are essential for detecting and treating issues like glaucoma as early as possible. Early treatment can prevent severe damage to your vision.

3. At least every two years, you should get your eyes checked. You could be advised to get more regular testing if you have a higher risk of glaucoma, such as if a close family has the disease.

Risk Factors for Glaucoma:

Young adults, kids, and even newborns can have it, but individuals over 40 are most commonly affected by it.

Diagnosis of glaucoma:

The glaucoma test is quick and painless. Your vision will be examined by an eye doctor. Your pupils will be extended (dilated) with drops when they inspect your eyes.

Your optic nerve will be examined for glaucoma symptoms. They might take pictures so they can document changes on your subsequent appointment. To check your eye pressure, a procedure known as measurements will be performed. To determine if you have lost eyesight, they could also perform visual field tests.

Our doctor may recommend specialized imaging procedures of your optic nerve if they have glaucoma symptoms.
